Dr Afshan Khayam – Consultant Child and Adolescent Psychiatrist

Dr Afshan Khayam is an experienced Consultant Child and Adolescent Psychiatrist working at NHS in a substantive role. As one of the lead Psychiatrists in multidisciplinary team, she takes responsibility for diagnosis, management and treatment of neurodevelopmental conditions such as ASD and ADHD, as well as emotional/neurotic disorders.

Dr Khayam has a wide range of experience in working with diverse population, first graduating from Fatima Jinnah medical university in Pakistan, she then started her training in the UK and has been working at the NHS since 2011. She completed her postgraduate training from St Mary’s scheme, London and is a member of Royal college of Psychiatrist (MRCPSYCH) and is on specialist GMC register.

Dr Khayam is passionate about working with young people and their families and providing patient centred and evidence-based care.
